Newly rebranded Toyota distributor CFAO Motors Zambia has unveiled its sponsorship of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ)

As Zambia’s leading car distributor presents three vehicles to the Zambian national football team ahead of the next round of AFCON qualifying games.

Newly rebranded Toyota distributor CFAO Motors Zambia has unveiled its sponsorship of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) with the presentation of three vehicles as a token of appreciation for the betterment of football in Zambia.

Zambia’s leading vehicle dealer and distributor handed over a Toyota Fortuner, Corolla Cross, and a Rav 4 to the Football Association of Zambia for use during the contract period.

In a speech read on his behalf by FAZ Deputy Secretary General Joseph Chipampwe, FAZ President Andrew Kamanga said: “This gesture by CFAO testifies to the firm’s all-weather support for local football. We hope other corporate entities can come on board and support football in the manner CFAO has done.”

“We have no doubt that the support CFAO Motors Zambia has given to FAZ will inspire our national team bench to work even harder.”

Mr Kamanga noted that this was not the first time the company had displayed its support for the association, adding that in 2021 Toyota Zambia had provided a top-of-the-range Toyota Prado to the men’s national team at a time when COVID-19 had wreaked havoc on many institutions reducing their budgets for other activities.

“CFAO Zambia is one of the partners that came on board in the heat of a lean economic spell in the game instigated by the COVID-19 pandemic,” he said.

“This partnership has gone some miles in easing the transport problems of the head coach of the senior men’s national team.”

And speaking at the same event, CFAO Zambia Chief Operations Officer Nenad Predrevac said that firm’s decision to support FAZ was due in part to the company’s desire to play a role in helping the national team realise its goal of qualifying to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

“We wanted to support the national team when FAZ has a huge task to lead the team to qualify to the AFCON,” he said.

“We believe it is our duty to help the team travel more easily to the venue of the tournament by donating these vehicles. CFAO presents three cars in recognition of the place Chipolopolo holds in the heart of the nation. The vehicles are also in support of the association’s continued drive towards putting Zambia at the top of African football once again.”

Mr Predrevac added that the company’s focus since the rebrand to CFAO Motors was to bring affordable products to the Zambian market and cement its status as Zambia’s number one car distributor.
